Matijas Slivnik

MATIJAS SLIVNIK

Let me introduce myself… My name is Matijas Slivnik, originally from the Soča Valley (Slovenia) and the proudest father in the world to my daughter Timea. By profession, I am a therapist – a certified naturopath (natural and evidence based healing methods in the field of traditional and clinical naturopathy). I have been working as a therapist for more than a decade (from 2013), so 12 years ago from my very first start, and since 2017, I have been running my therapeutic services under my own brand PraNaturas method, helping people to reach their true potencial of health and energy, especially on mental health challenges. I am specialised in area of adrenal fatigue-burnout and anxiety.

From a very young age, I have also been a musician. In 1997, I started playing the drums actively and continued to acquire other musical skills, with professional and academic teachers and as a self-taught musician. A significant portion of my musical knowledge came from my father and my late grandfather. Big thanks to them, I am very grateful for the opportunity to be in music area, and they both gave me the one.

MUSICAL BACKGROUND

I have quite a rich musical history behind me. It all started when I was 3 years old and became more serious at the age of 6 when we formed a family band called 3 Generacije, where I played the drums. We frequently appeared on television and radio shows, one of the more Slovenian well-known being the musical TV show “Orion.”

A few years later, I joined a wind orchestra and soon after, the Jazz Punt Big Band in Tolmin, where I played in the trumpet section for 15 years (I learned to play the trumpet at a music school). During this period, I continued playing drums in rock genres and bands, and for the last 10 years, I actively performed in a party band where I took on the role of singer and guitarist.

However, I must emphasize that playing drums remains my number one passion in music. Nowadays, I actively play healing and meditatve music on meditative acoustic steel drums, such as the handpan and rav vast. I love creating and playing music in the embrace of nature, where I feel a genuine connection and inner peace. Through this type of music, I express both, my inner and outer worlds. Sound is a primal element, and deep inside, I always feel and know, that it can have a therapeutic effect. So I put it in my therapeutic practise.

You are warmly invited to join me in my musical and therapeutic journey.
